2 questions.

1) why isn’t Yardi part of this lawsuit? Don’t they have a competing product? Or is it very different?

2) speaking of anti competitive and monopolies, that actually has more legs to build a case against the PMS providers and how they “unfairly” make it hard for startups to compete in a free market right?

1) They do have a competing product, but the DOJ argues that RealPage has the largest market share for revenue management specifically. And while I'm not privy to the details, I would agree with them based on how I know multifamily owners/managers use RealPage products. Curious if you disagree based on what you know from your network.

2) Yes, a case could absolutely be made. That said, it would be difficult to demonstrate harm. You typically need to show that someone or some entity has been clearly harmed to win an antitrust case. I agree with you that PMS providers make it difficult for startups to compete. I just don't know that you could convince jurors that PMS providers specifically caused harm when most startups fail regardless of industry.
